Bongwoo Tao Breathing Method

Haejon Ocean and a living path of meditation

“True peace begins with a single breath. When you breathe with awareness, you return to your essence—calm, clear, and whole. This path is not about escaping life, but awakening fully to it.”
Haejon Ocean

Bongwoo Tao Teacher

During the fourth step of the Bongwoo Tao Breathing Method, I will guide you in practicing the Restoring Breath where you will leave behind a piece of energy when you are inhaling and exhaling.  I will guide you through the key aspect of the Restoring Breath where you reduce the length of your breath to enable it to be comfortable and to accumulate the energy of the remaining breath in your lower abdomen.

All you have to do during the meditation is to ensure that your breathing is smooth, relaxed and easy.  If you were to force a longer breath or breathe forcefully or apply unnecessary strain in your lower abdomen, then you may experience indigestion, acidity or excessive gas.  So stay with a gentle and even breath.  You may notice that when the energy begins to go down to the lower abdomen, you may feel a thundering sound in your abdomen or sensations in your intestine. These symptoms are all healing signs and show the progress of your breathing practice.  However, if you feel pain at the end of the solar plexus, stiffness in the upper abdomen, and other random symptoms, it usually means that you are practicing incorrect breathing technique.  I recommend that you stop your breathing practice and listen to the guided meditation multiple times before continuing the breathing practice.
